Medley Catering uses personal information to answer enquiries, prepare orders and run this website. Contact us at hello@medleycatering.com with any privacy question. This website prepares enquiries and does not take online payments.
What we collect and why
We use the contact details and message you provide to answer an enquiry and discuss an order. For an accepted order, the necessary details can include your contact information, product choices, personalisation, requested date, fulfilment details and transaction records.
We rely on taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing our contract, to handle order enquiries and fulfil orders. We rely on our legitimate interests in providing customer service and keeping the website secure for general correspondence and essential administration. We use legal obligation where records must be kept for accounting or other legal requirements.
Allergy information
Please ask us about ingredients or allergens without sending unnecessary medical information. If we need to record information that identifies a person’s health condition, we will explain why and obtain explicit consent where required. Access will be limited to those who need it to handle the request safely. Withdrawing that consent may mean we cannot meet the related request.
Who helps us provide the service
Wix provides the website and shopping platform. Information may also be handled by our business email provider, professional advisers and, when relevant, the payment and fulfilment providers used for your order. We share only what is needed for the relevant service, legal obligation or dispute. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, appropriate UK data-protection safeguards are required. You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your information. See Wix’s privacy information for its platform processing.
How long we keep information
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are normally deleted within 12 months of the last meaningful contact. Order and accounting records are normally retained for six years after the end of the relevant financial year. We keep information longer only where a legal requirement or an active dispute makes it necessary.
We avoid keeping unnecessary personalisation or identifiable health information with long-term accounting records. Information needed only to fulfil a specific request is reviewed after fulfilment and removed when no longer necessary, unless it is needed for a complaint or legal obligation. Records of consent are kept for as long as needed to demonstrate how the information was handled.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct your information and, where applicable, request deletion, restriction or portability. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. These rights depend on the circumstances; we will explain any limit that applies.
Email us to make a request or raise a concern. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Marketing
Placing an order or making an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing. Any marketing sign-up will be separate, optional and clear about what you are agreeing to. You can withdraw consent or unsubscribe.
Email and WhatsApp enquiries
Product, gift-box and general enquiries are prepared in your browser. Nothing is sent automatically. If you choose an email or WhatsApp draft link, the selected details are passed to your chosen application so you can review and send them. WhatsApp is provided by Meta and its own privacy terms apply. You can use email instead. We do not embed a WhatsApp chat widget or load it before you choose the link.
Cookies and browser storage
Your enquiry is prepared on the page without being sent automatically or saved by this enquiry form. Wix may use essential platform storage to provide and secure this website.
We currently use an essential-only default consent policy. Optional analytics and advertising are not enabled by default. We do not add optional analytics or advertising technologies without the required consent. If optional technologies are introduced, you will be given information and a genuine choice before they are enabled. Your browser can clear stored data; some shopping functions may then need to start a new session.
